It is hard for parents to decide about the circumcision of their baby boy, but this procedure reduces the risk of many infections later in life, a new study suggested.

In the study, including 5,000 uncircumcised males, researchers found that after circumcision the events of infections of herpes and transmission of HPV, which is a major cause of cervical cancer in female, was reduced by 28 and thirty-five percent respectively.

Many previous researches have almost similar findings and also concluded that circumcision reduce the risk of HIV by 60 percent.

“These findings may one day change the policy and recommend the circumcision as vital tool for the better protection against herpes, HIV and VPV,” lead researcher Dr. Thomas Quinn said.

A new Dutch study has revealed that, children and members of the family which have the history of blood clotting in the veins are more likely to develop the disease than the siblings without family history.

Superficial and deep venous thrombosis, kinds of venous clotting, are lethal because it can travel to the pelvic arteries and lungs.

For this purpose, researchers compared the 1,605 patients of venous thrombosis with the 2,159 normal people that had never developed the condition. Study findings showed that the 31.5 venous thrombosis patients have a family history than the 17.3 of the controlled group.

The specific gene that turns the carbohydrates into fats has been found by the U.S. researchers. This study has also provided the new approaches about the metabolism of the carbohydrates and their contribution in the obesity.

The isolated gene, known as DNA-PK, is responsible for the various actions of liver which are responsible for the carbohydrates conversion into fats, the researchers’ team reported in the journal “Cell.”

“We are optimistic that one day these findings were allowed the people to eat carbohydrates without the fear of obesity,” the researcher Roger Wong, said.

A new study has demonstrated the safe implantation of a cochlear device in elderly patients with showing no serious complications as an outcome of general anesthesia.

The researchers said there is no high ratio of complications to insert the device into older people to correct the hearing problem of deafness.
