A review suggests that fish oil may help to decrease the number of heart diseases’ related deaths, but it appears to have no help for patients with heart beat problems.
The review has been based on the results of various fish oil related studies in which nearly 30,000 patients were involved.
The researchers from the University of Alberta conducted the study and it has been published in the journal BMJ online edition.
The researchers found that it was reported in almost 11 studies that fish oil helped to decrease heart problem 20%. But no study could determine the most favorable formulation or recommended dose for fish oil.

According to U.K researchers, aerobic exercise can prove more helpful to suppress appetite than some non-aerobic activity.
In this study, 11 university students (male) were involved who took part in three kinds of sessions. In the first session, they were asked to run on a treadmill for 60min, and then took rest for seven hrs. In the other session, the participants were asked to do weight training for 90min and then took rest for 6.5 hrs. In the last session, the participants didn’t perform any exercise.

In every session, these students got two meals and they were also asked to report hunger levels at different points in every session. Then the researchers noted the levels of ghrelin and peptide YY—two basic appetite hormones—among the participants.

Six new mutant genes have identified in connection with obesity, which alter nervous system control over eating and metabolic rate, researchers reported.
Joel Hirschhorn in collaboration with Genetic Investigation of Anthropometric Traits (GIANT) analyzes 15 different studies conducted on entire human genetic map and isolates six new genetic variations.
“These findings are a big achievement in better comprehension of the way, human body regulates weight,” Dr. Alan Guttmacher, said in a statement.
“This study really doubles in one fell swoop the number of genetic factors contributing to obesity as a public health problem,” added Dr. Kari Stefansson.

A new study says that there is some association between mental and respiratory health, particularly asthma, as it finds that people with poor mental health have a higher risk of developing asthma.
Researchers from Brown University report that people who are rated as with poor mental health have higher risk of become the victim of asthma than the people with good mental health.
Dr. Thomas Chun, who led the study, says: “People who suffer from mental health issues as well as asthma, they need to be treated for all these conditions.”

A Dutch study, which included 2100 older people, says that there is a possible link between abdominal fat and depression in older people.
In this study, these older people underwent screening for depression at the beginning of the study and their abdominal as well as overall body fat levels were also noticed at that time, and then after five years they were checked again.
After adjusting social, demographic and other weight change relevant factors, the researchers found that their depression linked to higher abdominal and visceral fat.
Nicole Vogelzangs, the lead author of the study, says: “We didn’t find the same sort of link between depression and overall obesity and the depressive symptoms in these older people were found particularly linked with abdominal fat.”

Elevating the level of oxyntomodulin (a naturally occurring 37 amino acid peptide hormone found in the colon) confines appetite and raises activity levels simultaneously, results in rapid but healthy weight loss rates, a study suggests. The hormone sends impulse to our brain that we have taken our meal to full, but the obese people have lesser amount of it.
The fact, dieting have a tendency to cause reduction in activity which often makes weight loss harder but best diet pills act as appetite suppressors. Oxyntomodulin is naturally occurring hormone in the body that is why; it’s an advantage as it has least chances for any unpleasant side-effects. It’s unlike of those nasty drugs obese people are forced to use for many years. As this hormone is already present in human body, scientists are using the body’s own mechanism to limit appetite.

Scientist has discovered an antibody that breaks down and suppresses an appetite stimulant that is produced by the human body.

Researchers from the Scripps Research Institute told that the antibody catalyst, GHT-11E11 became the cause to increase the metabolic rate in fasting mice and restricted their eating after 24 hours without food.
A gastric hormone gherlin, which promotes weight gain and fat storage through metabolic actions, is counteracted by the antibody. The substance is released by the body to boost eating during calorie restriction.

NEW YORK – Mother’s breastfeeding could have a constructive influence on behavior, in early childhood, according to results of a study presented Wednesday at the American Public Health Association’s annual meeting in San Diego.
In the study, parents of 1 to 5 year old children, who were breastfed as infants were 15 percent less likely to report concern for the child’s behavior than those parents, who were not breastfed.
In addition, breastfed children have 37 percent less chances to have doctor-diagnosed behavior or mental disorders or to have received mental health care.
The results based on more than 100,000 interviews with parents or guardians on the health of their children conducted as part of the 2003 National Survey of Children’s Health — also push studies that have showed breastfeeding enhances intellectual ability in children.

Most of us don’t understand why they are gaining weight? The answer is it’s our daily eating habits that cause most weight gain, rather than individual episodes of binge-eating. The same principle applies to exercise and fitness. A modest amount of daily exercise is more effective and sustainable than occasional vigorous workouts.
Medical experts recommend small regular calorie-saving approach to weight management. They emphasize the value of aiming for small but realizable weight loss goals.
Phenomenon
Weight gain or weight loss is determined in terms of calories. If you burn as many calories as you take in each day, there’s nothing left over for storage in fat cells and your weight remains constant. But if your calorie-intake exceeds your calorie-expenditure, the extra calories are stored somewhere on your body and you gain weight. Some fat loss 4 idiots guides, have shown desirable results for the overweight people.

Vitamin H or vitamin B7 is known as Biotin. Chemical formula of biotin is CLOHI6N203S. Biotin is a water-soluble B-complex vitamin. It is composed of a tetrahydroimidizalone ring fused with a tetrahydrothiophene ring. Aveleric acid substitute is attached to one of the carbon atoms of the tetrahydrothiophene ring. Biotin is a cofactor in the metabolism of fatty acid, leucine and gluconeogenesis.
Importance of Biotin:
- Aids in the utilization of
- Helps in cell growth
- Aids in fatty acid production
- Sweat glands health is improved
- Promotes
- Male sex glands
- Bone marrow
- Skin and hair
- Nerve tissues
- Cures baldness of hair
- Premature gray hair is controlled
- Type 1 and type 2 diabetic sugar level is reduced.
What is the use of biotin?
Biotin is quite needed for cell growth, production of fatty acids and also in the metabolism of fats and amino acids. Citrus acid cycle is the process in which biochemical energy is produced during aerobic respiration. Biotin is used in the citric acid cycle. In various metabolic reactions and in transferring carbon dioxide, biotin is involved, biotin is recommended for strengthening hair and nails. Biotin is present in the product of hair and skin.
