Food and drug Administration have granted approval to two new zero-calorie sweeteners made by the Coca-Cola Company and PepsiCo, opening the channel for new products.

Cargill, already marketing the low calorie sweetener Truvia from the Coca-Cola Company, said that, legal notification of approval had been delivered to the company from F.D.A. with no objection certificate to the product, calling it “generally recognized as safe.”
