These features can range from mild to severe and can strike right from early childhood. But they typically become more evident when the child is over ten years during this period those afflicted have to deal with persistent vocal and motor tics that often affect they normal daily routines.</p>
<p>There are also various studies that have reported the prevalence in the United States to be between six and three for every one thousand when all levels of severity are included. At present the widely accepted prevalence rate of Tourette syndrome diagnosed is 3 in every 1,000 kids. This new occurrence rate is based on cases diagnosed at a uniform level.</p>
<p><span id="more-860"></span>The studies conducted by the Center for Disease Control report that Tourette syndrome is more likely to affect boys than girls. It is also more common among kids over 12 years than those aged between 12 and 6 years. Besides this, ethically white children are more likely to be afflicted by Tourette syndrome than all other minority groups. Nonetheless, in most relatively mild cases afflicted kids do recover once they reach adulthood.</p>
