There are many myths and strange notions aboutdiabetes and the most common of them is that diabetes cannot be reversed. This is just never possible as with changes in lifestyle and even with just holistic help diabetes gets reversed by many. Today diabetes is just one of the greatest diseases to come to affect thousands of Americans. Thanks to the huge effect of junk food and refined sugar that diabetes has been coming to the stage that it is here now. Doctors tell you repeatedly that giving up refined sugar and flour, even if you don’t have diabetes is a powerfully healthy habit that will keep you healthy in many ways.

One can really escape a lot many diseases, including diabetes. Not only do you lose weight but you have less of the processed sugar and feel better in health in many ways. Beware of processed sugar in different hidden resources. These could be in anything from your cream latte coffee to your daily bread.

To give up more of processed food one has to have whole foods like whole grains, fruits, vegetables and lean protein. These whole foods really help you feel and look great and as well as give you much lesser chances of diseases like diabetes. Some of the myths that follow this whole sugar and processed flour story is that you don’t need to worry about it unless you get a disease like heart attack or diabetes.

Unfortunately most of our kids grown on processed sugar included in almost all of their food from ice cream to soda pop to candies and pastries. There is hardly a thing that is without processed sugar and all of us in our childhood, has been overloaded and drugged processed sugar and flour, in such a way that it ultimately numbs our senses in every way possible and takes slow creeping toll of our health. Stopping this cycle of getting out of it is really as important whether or not we are diabetic. Yes that this means a severe cutting up off our “feast” food or our treats. But we can always get a sugar free or non sugar alternative.

Aspartame and xylitol, unfortunately have a lot of problems coming with them to give us problems as well. One of the best ways to sweeten our dishes is through natural plant extract stevia or raw honey. Date syrup by blending dates in our blender with some water or just fresh fruit juices can also be used to sweeten some of our desserts and dishes. You will be amazed how you do not miss sugar at all! For many people diabetes may be inherited in the family but it does not have to be so if you make some key lifestyle changes.

Almost 75 percent patients hospitalized for cardiac arrest showed normal cholesterol levels, far away from the risk of cardiovascular trouble, a nationwide study reported.

The finding indicate towards the need to change the current threshold value of the cholesterol level, said study author Dr. Gregg C. Fonarow

“The LDL cholesterol level at which people have heart attacks shouldn’t be considered as normal,” Fonarow said. Yardstick

LDL cholesterol, in other words “bad” cholesterol, accumulates to form plaques that ultimately block arteries. Values evaluated by U.S. National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute are 130 milligrams per deciliter for healthy people and 70 milligram per deciliter for those who have high risk factors such as obesity, smoking and hypertension and diabetes.

But the collected data of 137,000 cardiac arrest patients, from 2000 to 2006, showed that, about three-quarter had bad cholesterol level below 130 at the time of hospitalization, while 17.6 percent had LDL levels below 70.

“With LDL levels from 100 to 130, people may feel risk free,” Fonarow said. “In this study, there was nothing normal about having an LDL reading of 100.”

Cholesterol is only one aspect in heart attack, Fonarow said. Risk increase with age, especially for males and who have had a family history.

“The positive thing is that, 80 percent of the risk factors are controllable,” Fonarow said. “We can’t change our family history, age or sex, but what we can do is to keep our blood pressure low, exercise and change our lifestyle in that way which has minimum risks.”

In this time of economic recession, Americans may cut down their expanses on the food, but in some experts’ opinion, they may get weight in the process.

The ghost of “recession pounds” has a deep concern with health professionals, who indicate towards a bunch of studies linking unhealthy eating and obesity with low incomes.

Experts fear that as people reduce food expenses they will reduce the intake of healthy but costly stuff such as fish meat, fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains, all for inexpensive food high in sugar and saturated fats.

“People are going to tighten their belt and as they cut short healthy food, they will tend to eat high sugary diet with saturated fats and refined grains, which are cheaper in cost,” said Adam Drewnowski, the director of the Nutrition Sciences Program.

“In the up coming future, situation is going to be worse than ever. Obesity is a lethal consequence of descending economic graph.”

Studies conducted in California, found that, 10 percent rise in scarcity elevate 6 percent obesity among adults, he added.

In South region nine out of the ten states have reported the highest rates of new cases of diabetes. It’s a region of prevailing poverty and clear income inequalities.

America is already on the top of the obesity scales. According to estimation 72 million American and 16 percent U.S. kids are obese.

“The fact is that when people have low income, the first area they try to address is having enough calories in their diet. And cheap sources of calories tend to be high in total fats and sugars,” said Eileen Kennedy.

It becomes quite difficult for these patients to have sex with such illnesses.

But if these patients follow the following instructions, they can make their sex life enjoyable despite these diseases.

People with chronic illness should try to find out that on what time of the day, they really feel energized and healthy. They can plan having sex at that times.

They must take a lot of rest and make themselves as much relaxed as possible.

They must avoid sex just after eating. It is better to have sex after two hours of eating.

People, who use pain medicine, need to take it almost half an hour before sex.

Tobacco and excessive use of alcohol badly affect sexual performances, so avoid smoking and consume limited alcohol amounts.

Study author Dr. Laura Mauri, who is an assistant professor of medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, says: “With drug-coated stents, I would say, there is clear efficacy and clear reduction for repeat revascularization procedures.”

“This is an important caveat and I think we have to judge our patients and need to know them as individual to determine on a case-by-case basis. It’s not a blanket statement, but in general, use of drug-coated stents in diabetic patients is really quite beneficial,” Mauri added.

The study has been presented at the American Heart Association’s annual scientific sessions in New Orleans on Monday.

The safety of drug-coated stents against traditional bare metal stents has been a controversial issue for quite some time.

In People with diabetes, there is a higher prevalence of ischemic heart disease than the general population, but in this group, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has limitations.

Dr. David Williams from Brown University and Rhode Island Hospital in Providence says in this connection: “It’s a controversial issue to select PCI as a treatment for diabetics and one of the basic weaknesses of PCI in diabetics is a relatively high need to perform repeat revascularization.”
