It’s hard to believe that fat can burn the calories, but new study has found that, in adults there are some small spots of brown fats that have the ability to regulate metabolic rate, formerly, these spots were believed to exit only in the babies and kids.

This brown fat can be termed as good fat, unlike white fat that constitute majority of the body fat, because it actively burns the body fat and utilize that generated energy.

This unique type of study first time showed that brown fat also does exist in the adults which can actively regulate the metabolic rate of the body. “this study has diverted the concern toward the brown fat in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, obesity and its associated risks,” lead researcher C. Ronald Kahn said.

Researchers are hopeful and trying to enhance the growth of brown fat in the body that can treat the diseases associated with metabolic disorders like obesity and can improve metabolic rate and hence control weight. Thin younger adults, with optimum blood glucose level, contain the higher number of brown fats. These fats work more actively during winter when more energy is required to maintain the body temperature.

“Apart from the presence of brown fats in adults, we also found significant differences in the quantity of brown fats on the basis of different factors such as blood glucose level, age, and the extent of obesity,” researchers reported.

New research has shown that, teenagers who engaged themselves in moderate physical activity, has better metabolism and burn more calories than their inactive age-fellows, a truth that provide protection against type 2 diabetes.

Type 2 diabetes develops when the insulin in body fails to regulate blood-sugar, causing blood sugar levels to rise. The disorder is associated with obesity, but studies in adults have shown that constant physical workout can prevent its arrival.

Whether this is true in case of children or teenagers, there is still no evidence. It is important to know, as rising rates of obesity in children are leading to increasing rates of type 2 diabetes.

For the new study, researchers planted 32 male and female teenagers with accelerometers to record the body’s movement in a day.

The researchers came to know that, teens who have done some physical workout over 1 week had a higher metabolism at resting state than those sedentary peers. They also showed better results for glucose tolerance test, a measure to evaluate the body’s ability to metabolize carbohydrates. Teenagers with weak glucose tolerance may develop type 2 diabetes.

While it was a short term study, the researchers concluded that regular physical exertion could make the teenagers to fight against both obesity and type 2 diabetes.

They also highlight that, the teenagers in this particular study got modest activity, like walking, which seemed to enhance metabolism to an optimum level.

In this time of economic recession, Americans may cut down their expanses on the food, but in some experts’ opinion, they may get weight in the process.

The ghost of “recession pounds” has a deep concern with health professionals, who indicate towards a bunch of studies linking unhealthy eating and obesity with low incomes.

Experts fear that as people reduce food expenses they will reduce the intake of healthy but costly stuff such as fish meat, fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains, all for inexpensive food high in sugar and saturated fats.

“People are going to tighten their belt and as they cut short healthy food, they will tend to eat high sugary diet with saturated fats and refined grains, which are cheaper in cost,” said Adam Drewnowski, the director of the Nutrition Sciences Program.

“In the up coming future, situation is going to be worse than ever. Obesity is a lethal consequence of descending economic graph.”

Studies conducted in California, found that, 10 percent rise in scarcity elevate 6 percent obesity among adults, he added.

In South region nine out of the ten states have reported the highest rates of new cases of diabetes. It’s a region of prevailing poverty and clear income inequalities.

America is already on the top of the obesity scales. According to estimation 72 million American and 16 percent U.S. kids are obese.

“The fact is that when people have low income, the first area they try to address is having enough calories in their diet. And cheap sources of calories tend to be high in total fats and sugars,” said Eileen Kennedy.

Most of us don’t understand why they are gaining weight? The answer is it’s our daily eating habits that cause most weight gain, rather than individual episodes of binge-eating. The same principle applies to exercise and fitness. A modest amount of daily exercise is more effective and sustainable than occasional vigorous workouts.

Medical experts recommend small regular calorie-saving approach to weight management. They emphasize the value of aiming for small but realizable weight loss goals.

Phenomenon

Weight gain or weight loss is determined in terms of calories. If you burn as many calories as you take in each day, there’s nothing left over for storage in fat cells and your weight remains constant. But if your calorie-intake exceeds your calorie-expenditure, the extra calories are stored somewhere on your body and you gain weight. Some fat loss 4 idiots guides, have shown desirable results for the overweight people.

It is also possible to reduce weight without physical workout, but it’s not an ideal option. Because losing weight typically involves losing both, muscle and fat. And as we loss more muscles, the lower our metabolic rate. That is why the best weight loss programs encourage you to reduce your calorie-intake and increase your exercise. Point is, if you make regular calorie savings, they add up to significant weight gain. According to the reviews of fat loss 4 idiots, accelerated metabolic rate is the key factor in fat loss.

Fat storage of body is a critical defense mechanism. The human body has not changed enough since the Stone Age. To enable Stone Age humans to survive periods of food shortage, the human body was designed to store energy which could then be drawn upon in times of famine. Thus for example, people could overeat during the hunting season, or when food was plentiful, and the surplus would be stored as fat tissue. And when food was short, the body would burn the deposited fat as energy.

Weight loss secret

Good nutrition is the basis of lasting weight loss. In order to lose weight we require an efficient metabolic rate and optimum efficiency requires nutritious food.

Calories are important as well. In fact, no matter how nutritious your diet, it won’t help you lose weight if it is too high in calories. But, like nutrition, calories are only part of the story. A low-calorie diet of junk food will not maintain the efficiency of your body or metabolism. As a consequence, before long weight loss will slow down and your health will suffer.

For healthy, lasting weight loss, the secret is to choose a calorie controlled nutritious diet which offers slow, steady weight loss to help you change your eating habits over the long term. Such a diet will help you to lose, about 100 pounds in a year.
