All of us know, smoking is injurious to health. Smoking not only harms lungs but nearly all vital organs of the body. With the decrease of marijuana and alcohol use, the abuse of painkillers such as Vicodin and Oxycontin has increased in teens, according to a new report.

In U.S. improvement has been seen in many drug uses since late ’90s, but from last two years the down ward trend has stopped.

“In this need of the hour we have to put our maximum efforts, because although there have been improvements, but still the rates are higher with respect to international standards, and it’s the matter of the prime concern in terms of the risk to the health of our community in the long run,” Dr Wilson M. Compton said.

Report mentioned the use of prescription painkillers among adolescence remains high, with some 10 percent of seniors saying they used Vicodin and 4.7 percent said they used Oxycontin in the past year.

There is no higher study that could explain that, an abortion causes a post-abortion syndrome or any psychological distress, till to date, U.S. researchers said.

Researchers reviewed 21 high-quality studies which involve more than 150,000 women undergone in the procedure of abortion and found no considerable differences in long-term mental health.

“The best collected data do not support any existence of a ‘post-abortion syndrome’ similar to post-traumatic stress disorder,” lead researcher said.

“If the objective is to aid women, policy decisions should not warp science with political agendas for advancement,” added Vignetta Charles.


People with diseases like asthma, diabetes and heart diseases often have to face fatigue and ongoing pain due to various causes. It becomes quite difficult for these patients to have sex with such illnesses.

A new study says that there is some association between mental and respiratory health, particularly asthma, as it finds that people with poor mental health have a higher risk of developing asthma.

Researchers from Brown University report that people who are rated as with poor mental health have higher risk of become the victim of asthma than the people with good mental health.

Dr. Thomas Chun, who led the study, says: “People who suffer from mental health issues as well as asthma, they need to be treated for all these conditions.”
